Due to the realization of a complication with the current waiver claim process for any players with no AHL or NHL experience outlined in the rules, we have decided to change the processing of these players.
Previously the rule stated:
Previously the rule stated:
If you wish to sign a player who does not have NHL or AHL experience, AKA: an undrafted free agent, you will need to place a waiver claim on said player.
Players who are not owned by a team in KD and have not yet played one (1) NHL or AHL game will remain on waivers until claimed. Therefore, in order to sign a player without AHL or NHL experience, a waiver claim must be placed.
Once a waiver claim is placed on a player, teams have 48 hours to submit a waiver clam should they choose. Once 48 hours have passed, the player will be awarded to the highest claiming team. That player's KPD contract will match his IRL NHL contract.
With this rule change, there is a temporary freeze on posting new players to be claimed. Any players who have already been claimed will remain, and you can still place claims on players already posted. Once the final player posted hits the 48-hour mark, the new rule will go into effect and the freeze will be lifted.
The new rule states:
If you wish to sign a player who does not have NHL or AHL experience, AKA: an undrafted free agent, or a prospect who has yet to appear in an AHL or NHL game, you will need to place a waiver claim on said player.
Players who are not owned by a team in KPD and have not yet played one (1) NHL or AHL game will remain on waivers until claimed. Therefore, in order to sign a player without AHL or NHL experience, a waiver claim must be placed.
Waivers for these players will run each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:00 PM EST. At that time, players will be awarded to teams based off the appropriate waiver claims.
